Tooth Whitening
- A digital scan of your teeth is made and flexible custom trays are fabricated specifically for your mouth.
- Instructions are to be followed to elicit the best results and to prevent damaging the teeth or gums.
- Some people may experience sensitivity with tooth whitening (the most common side effect), which can be reduced by decreasing the amount of time the trays are worn and by using a desensitizing toothpaste (i.e. – Sensodyne).
- When the bleaching gel is placed into the wells of the bleaching trays and then seated in the mouth, any gel that extrudes from the trays and onto the gums should be wiped off to prevent damaging the gums.
